Sheepshead Porgy GALLERY

Calamus penna

One of the great masters of instant camouflage.  The Porgies generally are found in water not less than about 5 feet. They cruises the edges of sea grass beds and neighboring rocky areas. You will see them traveling in small groups stopping to look for food in the sea bottom. During feeding and resting they will display the dark body bars. (both instances of wanting to be un-noticed)
