Peal Blenny

Entomacrodus nigricans

The Pearl Blenny is a combtooth blenny. They can be found in shallow areas near surges and swells and can remain out of water for up to two hours provided they can remain moist.  I have found that they are extremely fast movers if startled. But if you see them before they see you, and you approach very slowly, they will remain still, relying on their ability to camouflage.  They can grow to lengths of almost four inches.
