Nimble Spray Crab - Percnon gibbesi

Percnon gibbesi

If you want to find one of these strange-faced crabs, just scan around Long Spine Sea Urchins. They hide under the spines and venture out only as far as necessary to forage for food. They are very quick to retreat when something disturbs them. Because of their common association with the urchin, they are sometime referred to as "Urchin Crabs".  Like the Yellowline Arrow Crab, the Nimble Spray's leg joints also shine like iridescent gold. You will see more of them toward sunset.
