Yellow Jack

Caranx bartholomaei

Distinguished from the Horse-eye Jack by the much smaller eye. Yellow Jacks are uncommon to see snorkeling because they prefer outer reefs to the inshore reefs. They are very similar in appearance to the Bar Jack, but the Yellow Jacks have yellow fins (anal, ventral, dorsal and tail) . The Bar Jacks do not. They also seem to have a shorter eye to nose length.
