Two-Spot Octopus
Octopus filosusiThe Two-Spot Octopus is sometimes out during the day. They are much smaller than the common octopus only reaching a maximum of 10 inches. I have seen several smaller ones, perhaps 5 inches in shallower waters than the adults prefer (15-35 feet). Note the ring that creates a false eye marking below the real eye.The color is variable from a light reticulated pattern to a dark mottles pattern.
