Smooth Trunkfish

Lactophrys triqueter

The Smooth Trunkfish has a honeycomb pattern on the sides of the body. The Smooth Trunkfish may be called that because it is the only member of the Boxfish family that has no spines above his eyes or by the anal fin. Their mouth is rounder than the Spotted Trunkfish. They present in a variety of shades of black and brown, but always with spots even if the honeycomb pattern is not well defined.
