Harlequin Bass

Serranus tigrinus

Generally when you think of Sea Bass you think bigger fish, but these Harlequin Bass, a member of the Basslet family and only grow to about four inches in length. I've only seen them in areas of clear water, and areas of large rock rubble. Their coloring is quite distinctive making them easy to identify. I've only seen them occasionally and they seem quit shy.
