Frond Oysters
Dendostrea fronsThese oysters are found growing on almost anything. Often hard to notice because they are usually encrusted with sponges, fire coral algae or hydroids. The saw-tooth edges of the valves is the distinguishing characteristic. Found at depths of just a few feet and deeper. Size doesn't often. exceed 2 inches.
