Crustose Coralline Algae

Thin brittle growth covers substrates as rounded plates or smooth surface of pink calcified encrustations. Will be found in most marine environments in shaded areas, caves, recesses, walls and rocks. CAn be colors of pink, violet, dark red and usually have white edges.  It is a member of the Red Algae family. Growth can be small area or as large as 3 feet
