Colpophyllia natans

Boulder Brain Coral colonies build some of the largest coral domes Some reach 7 feet in diameter. The ridges and valleys are very twisted curvy and the ridges have distinct groove that runs along the top. They also have contrasting colors between the ridge tops and the valleys. Boulder Brain Coral colonies grow in shallow water and come very close to the surface and on are common in all areas. Unfortunately,  stress and disease are taking their tolls on brain coral communities.
