Arrow Squid
Loligo pleiThis squid can be recognised by the short triangle fins at the rear of the body. This juvenile was swimming with a group of Caribbean Reef Squid in about 7 feet of water. It was getting dark, toward sunset and I feel fortunate that the pictures turned out as well as they did. Squid feed on fish and crustaceans and communicate by flashing different colored lights and signals with their body chemistry.
